I am trying to update the OS on my 5300cs from 8.0 to 8.6 and am running into a problem
I have to do it on floppies as I cannot make the external cd I have work with it and can't get it to recognize files correctly in order to do it. I am having to download the files to the Windows XP PC that I have then make a floppy and transfer them to the Mac except all of the files I do this way end up showing as "PC" and if I try to open them the Mac says it cannot find program PC to open them with How do I get the update to the Mac and let it recognize the files A second question. I can tell by looking inside the computer that this computer has been through the REA program but how do I tell if it has had the Video/10bT Ethernet upgrade? Is the connector going to be the same RJ45 I would expect or is it more hidden to me like the SCSI port was? -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
