Good idea

It is currently running System 8

The only thing I get from the cd drive is it spinning up when I put in a cd.
I get nothing at all on the computer itself

Tried that, nothing at all on the CD Drive

Drive is terminated. Tried both positions with the hardware terminator just
in case

The only things I have are what I can download from Apple and the only way
that I have to get them is with the Windows XP machine

I'm assuming that the drive is just broken at this point, much as I would
like for it to be otherwise

Wise choice, always a good idea
