My 1400/G3/9.1 has been working with the Wavelan drivers for ages;

recently I took the card out and ran it for a couple days without the card;
not, when I try and connect via the card, my network/TCP/IP is messed up.
TCP/IP shows I have an IP address established in the 169.x range, not
192.168.x, and I cannot get it to change. And this doens't work...

I've tried switching from DHCP to PPP and then rebooting, then switching
back to DHCP which gives me a blank IP field (which is good) until such
time as I try and connect via DHCP again and then I get a 169.x address
again (which is not good). I've reinstalled tha WAVELan software, removed
the MacTCP DNR prefs file (but not yet trashed TCP/IP control panel prefs,
IIRC- but that seems unnecessary since the PPP/DHCP switching works as it
does).

One thing that has changed- I had a location manager setup for toggling
between wireless, wired, and a couple different wired LAN setups- and
something happened and all my location manage setups are gone, too- so that
might be part of it.

What I can't recall- and I'm sure someone can remind me- should the
Wavelan card (orinoco gold with WveLAN drivers) be showing up as "ethernet"
or "alternate ethernet" in the TCP/IP panel? I have not had to work with
this for so long I can't recall :) I only have an ethernet option, no
"alternate ethernet" at this time.

Thanks,

Brian
