I have a PowerBook 1400 that I dropped in a Sonnet G3 upgrade, 467 MHZ. It has OS 8.1 and I wanted to upgrade it to 8.6, so I bought the installer disk off eBay.

You probably can guess what happened. The laptop won't install it. I get the message that the installer doesn't work on this computer. (I also tried to do the same thing on my Performa 6116 which also has a Sonnet G3 upgrade and got the same results.)

What's a person to do? Is there a way to get around the installer? I tried using the installer from a 9.1 disk but that didn't work either. do I have to pull out the upgrade card, install and put it back in again?
