Pretty weird. I have similar symptoms on my Kanga (actually a 3400 with a G3 instead of a 603e). I tried with a 2500 and a ColorStyleWriterPro. They won't even wake up and the Mac says "that there is a problem communicating, be sure it's plugged in".

I have been in search of a logic board replacement although I still have the feeling it is a software related problem.

Let's see what other users suggest.

BTW. did you try to connect to the port a modem or something else? My Kanga isn't able to communicate to a modem too.

When I try to print to it, the Stylewriter will switch from "sleep" to "on", but always fails during initialization. The message is generally that there is a problem communicating, be sure it's plugged in. It works on an old 6100, so it's not the printer.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
