The Airport Apple software does not work on the PPC 603, not even by installing the single extensions after extraction via TomeViewer.

Much easier, although way less elegant, is to install the proper driver either from Orinoco (up to OS 9) (if you are trying to use Airport you must have a Lucent chip card) or WaveLAN (OS 7.5.2 or higher)

Older Orinoco software version allows me to join my home wifi network even with OS 7.6.1. Right now I am printing from the 5300 to the StyleWriter wirelessly.

On this 5300ce I have the WaveLAN software installed (68k version works fine, PPC not because Open Transport 1.1.1 is not included in OS 7.6.1).

On the other 5300 I have the Orinoco 7.2 thing and OS 9: believe me this one (with 32MB trpled to 96MB with Ram Doubler 2) is way more usable than the OS 9 one with max RAM.

It only 1 minutes to boot compared to the 4-5 minutes of the OS 9 equipped one.

Ben,
In a word "Airport".
Needs 8.6 or 9 - even then had to hack it into 9. and assuming max RAM
installed its acceptable for most purposes.
