Hi,

Just subscribed to the list and failed to find what I was looking for
by searching the archive, so I am going to appeal to your memories.

A couple of old articles on LowEndMac suggest that people on this list
have managed to boot up their PBs from a CF card in the PCMCIA slot.
I would really like to be able to do this with a 190cs and would be
grateful for any instructions. It has 7.5.3 installed at the moment
but I have a copy of 8.1 and might try to upgrade at the same time.

Why do I want to do it, I hear you ask. Well, I bought the 190cs very
cheaply to use for text entry when working in the library. I would
like to run it entirely from a CF card to reduce noise and extend
battery life (and maybe to reduce weight if I also take the HD out).

Thanks,

Tom
