RHB Actually, the C key only reliably works with CD-ROM drives that are "Apple friendly" - those with Apple ROM instructions. Not all CR-ROMs that came with PCC machines were "Apple friendly," which makes the "C" key more of a crapshoot. Thus, the DOCS method is the best way to go, as it works every time. But you do bring up a good point, Robert: other apps (e.g. Conflict Catcher) may map the "C" key to something different on startup. Again, this is where the DOCS method shows its mettle: it works, no matter what. Note that the DOCS method only works on ADB-native Mac OS machines. It has been phased out on the USB/FW Macs. rudi -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
