Talk about an embarrassment of riches. I'm looking for a good mission for a PowerTower 180e. Mine at work has been replaced by a MDD G4, and the PT has been declared surplus. My IT guy nags me to take it home; he's threatening (kiddingly -- I think) to throw it away!
But we have loads of computers at home now. I don't really want to unload the PT (esp. Considering rock-bottom prices on eBay); I'd like to retain it for future spare parts. But better yet, I'd like to think of something good for it to do. Already we have an SE serving as a recipe machine in the kitchen. An LC 575 serves as an interface for our electronic weather machine (for which I am about to post an OT question). Plus there are two iMacs (one at school with our daughter) and a G3 PowerTower. Can anyone think of something useful for a spare machine to do? If OS X would work on a PowerTower, I would experiment with that. But I don't think XPostFacto will work on a PowerTower (though there are some rumors of it working on some PowerCenters, and the MoBo in the PowerTower has PowerCenter stamped on it). Thoughts appreciated. -- Chuck -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
