I've got an idea for your mac- any mac will hold a simple data base. So,
use this one in your garage. Anytime you store a box of stuff, write out a
little card on the mac saying what was in the box and where the box was put.
Then when you go looking for the barbque tongs NEXT summer, you'll have a hope of
finding then without unpacking half the boxes stowed in the basement, attic
or garage. I would print out a copy of the 'card', put it in a ziplock baggie
and tape the baggie to the box.

Anyway, if i had a spare machine, that's what I would use it for.
