A lot of people don't realize the first Mac OS X will run on a 604 CPU without a hack but it is basically a beta version and has some problems..... but it works. And greg is correct on the G3/G4 issue. OS X of any flavor will run on a G3, even a 233MHz iMac. I have Panther (10.3.7) running on a 300MHz B&W and it runs better than Jaguar.
