A while back there was no Xpostfacto for Panther, only Jaguar. The Panther version is out now and works on the clones or the daughtercard CPU Macs. > > I had recommend to him by separate post that rather than spend a ton on the > PTP, he get a G4 blue and White on eBay. > > RHB I agree and I suggest keeping it at OS 9xx due to the logic board speed, RAM speed, etc.... If you want an experience or adventure try OS X with XpostFacto on it but X is slow on old world Macs no matter what you do. For what a video card, larger SCSI drive and a G3 card would cost to run OS X it would be about the same cost for a B&W G3. The B&W's are about $100.00 and up on Ebay and is your best bet for running OS X cheaply. You can get G3 cards cheap on the used market now but the 225MHz 604e will do just fine with OS 9xx. -- Ron http://krowmagnum.4mg.com/ -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
