I'm glad you asked that. The Missouri Compromise refers to Lincoln's sweetheart
deal with Missouri that allowed that state to keep slavery up and running while
siding with the Union.

The analogy is of course when Apple axed the clone successionists, and bought
up PowerComputing to obtain the...ahh...human resources to run their 'Apple
Store' (yeah yeah...it's easy to be the big cheeze when there's no competition,
eh Steve??)

The Rev 1 B&W ATA controller chokes on HD's larger than 6G, The workaround is
to install an ATA card in 1 of the 3 measly PCI slots. Great engineering...
(Oh look...an ADB port! Thanks Steve!! Well, at least one can still use their
mouse and keyboard, even if the RAM, HD, CRDOM, PowerSupply and even screws
from the mighty PowerTowerPro don't bloody well work on a B&W !!

And Firewire? Oh, Apple finally worked out all the bugs by the time they
shipped the G4 Digital Audios. Prior to that, the simplest solution was to
install a Firewire card to ensure against corruption alongside a USB 2. card in
that third slot.

It's free. That's pretty special.
