There are a few things that irritate me about PowerMail's address book
integration. (Currently using PM 4.2.1.)

I don't use the PowerMail address book to create contacts. In the
preferences, I've checked the "Open contacts Apple Address Book by
default." I also don't allow PM to update anything to Apple's address
book. (Tried that when I first got PM and I had duplicates and
triplicates and a bunch of addresses that looked like obvious spam
addresses that I'd never added. I immediately became distrustful of
anything to do with PM's address book integration.) Any time I want to
create or modify a contact, I switch to the Apple Address Book. But, in
every version of PM, any action that requires use of the Address Book, it
opens PM's address book, though I've always had that preference checked.
It really bothered me when I first got PM, but I tried to just ignore it.

The spammers are getting too smart for PM. In the last few days, I've
received several spams that were addressed to me and from my email
address, but had "Douglas" as the display name. For some reason, PM
leeched onto the fake display name, and each attempt to use the contact
auto-complete feature, by typing "ches" it dutifully provides my address
[EMAIL PROTECTED] along with the display name "Douglas" - that is NOT
what I want. I had created some QuicKeys scripts that I'd put into
action. The QK shortcuts type in the full "cheshirekat" ... but PM still
changed it to "Douglas" before I went in and cleared PM's address
history. So, now I've completely disabled the address history.

Why is it that when I open a new outgoing mail message and decide not to
compose a message, I'm still prompted by PM to save the message that I
haven't even written in - nor have I moved the insertion point? PM seems
to be a little too obsessed with saving which costs me time and energy
considering how frequently I've checked and rechecked and modified or
glanced at preferences and filters. Each time I modify a preference, I
have to save. Though, at one time, I had to sometimes save more than once
before it would allow me to close the preference window.

There are several "little" things like the above examples that really
irritate me about PM. The more I try to find workarounds for all the
"little" irritations each and every day, the more they feel like a big
mountain of PM frustrations. Some of them I was going to inquire about to
the list, but as you can tell, once I get started ... sigh. So, I haven't
really had the time to go into a lot of detail and each time I just feel
like I'm venting. After realizing how much these problems bother me, I
guess that means it's time to move on to another application that won't
get me so steamed.
