Barbara,

Entourage and IIRC, Outlook Express, have the ability to run scheduled
events. These are time based minutes, hours, days, startup, shutdown,
etc. and can check mail, purge specific folders based on aged messages,
run applescripts, etc.

Now that would be a great new feature. ;-)
