why is it a problem to use the apple script 'delete aged messages'?

just curious.

I don't need it as I empty trash on a daily basis, but this apple script
works just great.

I tested it quickly on my trash can and on my spam folder. did exactly
what it should, simple and easy.

it is not fully automated build into the trash can, but selecting this
apple script is no biggie in my eyes. so, why not just use this? does it
slow down on many, many messages?

why then not take the approach to leave on server for 90 days and delete
stuff from server only after 90 days? so the server would serve as a
backup to trashed stuff, i.e. it might have been trashed but still is
around for 90 days. that would work too, no? and this would be automated
with the account setup.
