Columbia’s responses below. Do workers have to hand in signed trip tickets in order to receive proper dosimetry during outages? Entries which do not require a HRA or VHRA entry, the trip ticket is completed at the access control point login station and then taken to HP Lead Technician for verification and signature. HRA and VHRA tickets are completed during the HP Briefings and Login is verified by a peer for HRA and HP for VHRA.
How do workers get EDs during non-outages and outages? No difference, all dosimeters are located at the login stations. Are there workers assigned to check batteries in the EDs around the clock during outages and what is the frequency non-outage? No, they are changed during calibration and the workers are responsible for acknowledging the audible beep from the ED upon login. It is also a standard practice that all dosimetry used for remote monitoring have fresh batteries installed prior to use.
