DC Cook practices #1, and also uses a disposable hard hat cover, which is
removed before removing the hood.

Perry - We currently teach them to remove hard hat, place it on the SOP or RP
table, then remove hood, and replace hard hat after they are completely
undressed and on the SOP. Then proceed to the nearest PCM.

Subject: Practice for Removing Hard Hats

FENOC would like to know how workers handle their hard hat when exiting a
contaminated area.

1. Do they remove the hard hat, remove the p.c. hood, then replace hard
hat on bare head and proceed to remove protective clothing?

2. Remove the hard hat and place it on the step off pad or a table?

3. Utilize common contaminated area hard hats which remain in the area.

Response appreciated.
