Hi David

This happened to me a while ago with an Epson 1200, Epson inks and Epson
PhotoPaper. The edge of one of the rubber feed rollers on the printer (2nd
from the R) kept getting dirty (ink) about 1/4 of the way through the print
and I end up with a blotchy black line running the length of it.

I did numerous things to try to clean the rollers including all those
mentioned; I tried moving the + paper thickness adjustment bar; I visually
checked alignment, etc, everything looked fine to me but still kept getting
a black line ...
I finally called Epson but they had no suggestions other than to send it in
for a service ... so in foolish desperation I trimmed off the offending bit
of rubber on the roller - guess what? the ink started being transferred onto
the previously clean half!
In the end I had to send the printer off to be serviced. They replaced the
roller and... don't know what else they did but it's worked fine for the
last 5 months now. Cost about 40 or so.

Maybe you'll be lucky and manage to sort it out yourself! Good luck.

Best wishes
Tariq
