I have just unblocked an Epson 1160 which had been sitting idle for 6 months. I used Isopropynil Alcohol rather than Windolene - just easier for me to get hold of.

It took about a dozen goes, over 3 days, plus a few cleaning cycles. But persevere - it does work. I now realise that I need to put something through each of my three printers at least every couple of days. The 1160 had been dormant while I was waiting for an OSX driver.
