Easy. If you have maybe 170 GB+ of images then CDs become slightly > cumbersome; 30-50 DVDs seems better than 200-300 CDs (per year!).
Don't the latest DVD-Rs write 2x which must still be faster than burning 7 CDs at 32x with a lot less human interaction ?
