I love 10x8 (sigh!) and I also like large files but give me a break.  Why on
Earth would anyone want to scan a 10x8 (or any image) to 650mb.  The
sharpness and quality of a ten eight assumes that you are going to look at
it more or less with normal eyes on a light box or (perhaps!) with a low
power magnifying glass.  35mm quality on an inch by inch basis is not in the
realm of large format photography.
