Dear Dave, My settings are identical to yours. <<It could of course be your printer profile, try having a plain white document, doing a convert to profile to your printer's profile then checking that the numbers are still all 255.>> I tried your suggestion - interestingly when converted to profile I checked the numbers and they read 254. (The white read 255 before conversion) There is obviously some density that is being recorded in printing. My original file was transparent, the theory being that if there is nothing there, nothing should print! Out of interest, I converted this to profile and then selected "same as source" in the print dialogue box. When I printed, hey presto, a clean background! Is this a correct way of working? Do I see the colour management experts on the list holding their heads in their hands!? Comments!
