Many of the Custom Settings are defaulted to annoy, quite frankly, and the first 48 hours with the camera is very frustrating. I tend to turn anything off that is apt to make a decision for me and use it as a manual camera, a function it fulfills very well.
Next issue to arise I predict will be whether the meter is accurate and whether you can trust the auto exposure :-)
