Could have been me. We've had one client where the bulb needed changing
because it was flickering, but it was done whilst the scanner was turned on.
It subsequently fried the motherboard. Its probably because, unlike most
bulbs which just turn on, the main board adjusts the bulb to get the correct
colour without any flickering so is acutally connected to the bulb.

I suppose it could have been coincidence, but it makes sense to turn
everything off before going inside the scanner.
