I'm afraid to be pessimistic but UK2.net are not exactly what I would call a reputable company and my experiences with them have tended to lead to discussions with my local Trading Standards Bureau.
They are practically impossible to contact and their services are only worthwhile if you're looking for an automated, low-maintenance provision such as domain parking. I can't pinpoint your exact server problem but it would not surprise me if UK2.net's hosting was of a significantly lower quality than its competitors.
