I'm looking for some help with regards the quality (or otherwise) of digital
capture with 6+ mega pixel cameras.
I'm not sure if this helps or not but when I was about to buy a digital system for the first time (I knew very little about the quality or the technical attributes of digital), before handing over the xx,xxx, I reassured myself by having a digitally captured file written back to transparency. Although this negates a lot of the benefits of working digitally (and no I'm not suggesting this for anything other than illustrating a specific point), it did provide me with a point of reference which I understood. Seeing that the digital file was capable of producing a 6x9 transparency of such quality helped in two ways: firstly it convinced me (I ordered the camera that day) and secondly my clients who could look at it and understand the level of quality available in terms that they understood, i.e. looking at transparencies. Perhaps there are hazards in this of which I am unaware, but it might be another arrow in the quill....
