Bernadette, The solution is to find a cold roller mounting press. Its what I use and because no heat is applied the item to be mounted is not affected be it an ink jet print, photograph or dye sub print. And Richard is correct in that the framer is talking rubbish, probably in order to cover up his lack of knowledge of processes other than the one he uses! As for warping its something that occurs because when a hot press is used one side of the base material gets hotter than the other side causing uneven expansion between the two sides.The warping associated with porous materials is usually because the rear surface absorbes moisture from the atmosphere causing it to swell on the one side whilst the mounted side is protected from this by the barrier the print presents.
