Dear Ellie

Export to PDF is a piece of cake in ID2 and very fast.

Ask your client if he needs any special settings. After typing apple+E save a new set of parameters with his name on it. Then it is very easy to do multiple PDFs to those parameters.

Under compression use None for delivery by CD and Automate > Maximum for sending via email. (I haven't seen a quality difference.)

Under Advanced either leave unchanged or enter his data.

Open in Acrobat 5 to see how it looks and print a proof if you can.

PDFs should not need to be imported into Quark. The imposition software should handle it.

I hope this is considered on-topic by the list mums. If not, sorry
list mums, perhaps I can have replies offlist?

I have produced an ad in Indesign 2 that I had to send to the
publisher in pdf format, as he is working in Quark Express. He says
that all pdf's look pixelated in Quark, so he just hopes it's
optimised for printing. I set it for highest resolution. Is there
anything else I have to do?

Many thanks,

Ellie
