I recently shot a job digitally (D1X) and have now loaded all 14Gb of data onto my Mac as tiff files, I notice that they are being opened by picture viewer, and not Photoshop, I hoped a batch action would rectify this, but it has not, how do I do this, hopefully in an automated action, as I don't fancy sitting infront of a Mac doing the same thing to 800 files all weekend.....
In OS X this is about five seconds work, but from your mention of Picture Viewer I guess you're on OS 9. You have to open a Control Panel and set the default application for opening TIFFs to be Photoshop. It's been a long time since I used OS 9, but I think it's called 'File Exchange'. Somone'll correct me if I'm wrong...
