It seems that these CD burners won't accept 1GB cards (because they can't
store that amount of data).  So a non-starter for most here, I'd imagine.

I've bought a 30GB iPod, and after filling it with 3,500 songs there's still
11GB free to download backup files from my iBook on location (until now I've
been burning CDs all day, which has not been convenient or reliable).

I doubt there's any way to download directly from the camera as the only OS
on the iPod relates to the music side of it.  Perhaps someone could  write
an OS for it, but I doubt it would be worth a developer's time given the
small size of the potential market.
