Bit late for this perhaps, but here's MY Photoshop 8 wishlist: 1.) Fix the Contact Sheet so that it works fast, and leaves out the white space! (if Adobe fix this it'll be worth the price of the upgrade to me on it's own. Believe me I've tried ALL the other alternatives.)
2.) Allow "non-intuitive" curves and levels adjustments in Adobe Raw. 3.) Run native in OS X (I've heard that the Good Fairy has already promised this) 4.) Integrate the Liquify tool work into the main editing window. 5.) Do more things in 16-bit 6.)Fix the Shear tool to work in both directions. (I think this is VERY overdue) What's on YOUR wishlist?
