Not sure if there's a Mac version, but some software must do it. On PC I use Internet Download Manager, free trial, costs about $19 to buy. It is absolutely wonderful - it manages the download and connects to up to 16 different sites and downloads sections of the file simultaneously, then stitches them together at the end into one file and saves it wherever you want. If the connection is lost, it remembers where it was up to and when the connection is re-established it carries on with the rest. Don't know how it does it but I can thoroughly recommend it. The speed it downloads at is amazing.

Dear David and List

Many thanks for all the guidance offered on this topic. Sorry for the delay in coming back, been hectic here!

The Gozella software seemed to work well but I was not happy with the potential security risk. The download had to be spread over three separate connections (slow connection here) but worked OK.

I have just been trying your suggestion David and was far more comfortable with it, and the far neater and cleaner interface. Problems though as at the end of the first 2hr period and subsequent cut off, there seemed no obvious way to continue the download. This is where I am at the moment having had two tries and failed to pick up from where it left off. Any ideas most welcome please.

Cheers

Richard
