Big problem trying to download a 78Mb upgrade file for BestColor rip. 64K connection giving in the region of five hours download time! ISP cuts us off every couple of hours at which point Explorer 5.5 on the PC flags up a message saying the connection is lost. Fine, reconnect and try to re-establish connection then OK the previous box. This seems to work the first one or two times but fails the next time. What is the correct routine for this scenario please?

Hi Richard,

Not sure if there's a Mac version, but some software must do it. On PC I use Internet Download Manager, free trial, costs about $19 to buy. It is absolutely wonderful - it manages the download and connects to up to 16 different sites and downloads sections of the file simultaneously, then stitches them together at the end into one file and saves it wherever you want. If the connection is lost, it remembers where it was up to and when the connection is re-established it carries on with the rest. Don't know how it does it but I can thoroughly recommend it. The speed it downloads at is amazing.

Hope this helps,
