Dear Ian,
'Why are you bothering with 16 bit files when you are reproducing at 7/5'-
point seen... just wanted to play around with the best possible settings...
'Surely you can just get the scane setting right and then batch scan the
ones you have by highlighting the ones in the thumbnail section and go
away and do something else. ???' yes - I can batch scan- a wonderful thing
but it doesn't help if you need them all ready the next morning- even the
best movie can't distract fron the fact that the clock is ticking- by the
way it was 4am this morning- so excuse any mistakes in this reply
Thanks for the tip with the tiff file- completely forgot about it last
night- because then you can work in PS while it is scanning!
And yes I work with USB2- the transfer of the file is quick- and as
mentioned in my reply earlier on it might be the fact that I asked the
scanner to downsample for me?

'Are you using fire wire or usb. And if its usb are you sure your
computer is using usb 2. As I am using usb 2 on my pc and I can scan a
5400 dpi tranny with ice on and the 2 times scan on in 6 minutes.'

yes- I also need 6 min but not if I want to scan it with a resolution
decided by the scanner software to give me exactly 300dpi for a 5x7,..
print?`

Thanks
