Umm. Scrap the last message. For some weird reason the scanner scanned the first image at 5400ppi then switched to 1350ppi for the remaining 3 images. So no wonder it did it in the flick of a gnats eyelid. (To do this I selected all four images and pressed "scan". Looks like this doesnt work and I should have selected the batch scanning utility instead.)
Dear Paul, You either set the resolution of the images seprately or us batch scanning which saves loads of time. Make sure you do set in the preferences to focus at scan. It seems to make a difference. Hope you are getting wonderfully sharp images as well. The step up from scan elite 2900 is so obvious, pictuires are jumping into life and I shall be getting some of that tranny film that's been hanging around in the fridge to do some stock work.
