The file is 9mb, broadband users only perhaps...

Dear Simon

Slow connection here but happy to support your efforts to get Canon to accept that you have a bum printer.

I would be particularly keen to hear from any Epson 1290s users.

Sorry but this test was done on a brand new 2 grand Canon proofer...W2200

Begging the listmoms' indulgence, I would like comments ON list please, so they become public record.

I understand.

I appreciate your help. This has been going on for so long now that I am beginning to doubt my own sanity and need some pro backup/opinions.

I know where you are coming from <BG>

OK the test file printed out without any problems. Very smooth but I see a transitional strip of cyan which does not coincide with the same strip that's just visible on the monitor...I placed a black dot on the file to check! Bear in mind we have not had time to get sorted out with profiles for this beast yet, however the grey scale it produces is pretty much bag on as regards to neutrality and not bad for density either. There is no evidence of the problems you have described, nor it has to be said on the Pixel file! You have a bum printer, I suggest you throw it back to your supplier and don't bother messing about with Canon support.....not your problem IMHO as you are in the UK.

There is however a very interesting problem with this file I am trying to understand, perhaps I am having a 'senior' day? When downloaded it comes in as 9.581Mb tiff however when it's opened in PS on two systems (a Mac and a PC) it opens as 99.6Mb. Can anyone throw some light on this strange happening please?

Cheers

Richard
