Hi I'm having trouble with a 512 Ridata card on a Fuji S2 camera and trying to find the cause of one file not downloading to the desktop. I can't stop the download and have to force quit the Finder.
I did have a problem with the card before (I accidentally switched the camera off while the drive was mounted - yeah!). When the camera was turned back on, I got a card initilisation error message. I managed to reformat it and shot a few test files, all seemed OK so didn't think of download them, of course. When I tried to download some stuff I'd just shot yesterday, the download stopped at one file every time. I had to force quit but luckily the drive mounted again and I managed to download the files individually - except for no #7. I reformatted the card in camera this morning again and filled it but the download hangs at the same file number again. It downloads partially and then I have to force quit the Finder because the drive will not unmount. I have to turn the camera off (not recommended) before the Finder relaunches. So, has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a cure? Is the card beyond recovery? Should I risk a format with the Disk Utility? I'd hade to lose the card...
