Dear Richard,

Yes, the SCSI controller shows up, and if I hit F2 or F6 at that point it
takes me into the SCSI configuration utility.

In that utility the various options show loads of data, and I have culled
what seem to me to be the relevant data.

Adapter Options.
This shows the SCSI ID is SCSI ID 7 (default) and Boot device ID SCSI ID 0.
I changed the SCSI ID to 6 (to match the setting on the scanner) but it did
not help. When I did this, instead of seeing the boot process search through
all the ID LUN's from 0 to 6, it only went as far as 5, then the boot went
into its stall state. It is tempting to change the scanner address to match
the SCSI ID of 7, but there is a warning in the Flextight manual not to use
7,8 or 9. I don't want to make a bad situation worse!

Device Options.
This shows all the SCSI ID's from 0 to 7, all empty, except 6, which shows
it is the Imacon SCSI loader scanner.

Show SCSI Devices option.
This has just one entry, ID LUN 6-0 Imacon SCSI Loader L302

It seems to me from the above that the SCSI card and Imacon scanner are
being seen, but something related to these two items is upsetting Windows at
boot time.

In view of that would you agree that it is not necessary to remove and
reseat the SCSI card?

When the boot proceeds beyond the point where the SCSI controller shows up,
I get a message saying that "No Bios Disc Found, SCSI Bios not installed".
According to Bodoni this is normal, the Bios is on the Flextight software
set-up CD, and will be installed when Flextight is installed.

Good question, I will speak to Bodoni tomorrow about that.
Many thanks for your help.
