If you don't get a definitive answer here (and I think that answer is going to be - you can't - you will need to run Classic)
I'd opt for running an old second computer with System 9 installed and networked to your main OS-X system. I do exactly that for the few odd items that will likely never be updated for OS-X (Fotopage?). The only major headaches I've had with OS-X have all centered around Classic. Leaving it completely behind is a blessing.
