Hi Alan,

do the specs appear in the same place on subsequent scans?

if they are in the same place, its dirt embedded in the emulsion, a problem
I had with neg film (showing as white spots) when I had it processed at
METRO, showing up at its worse with even blue skys. Flextouch sorted this
out, without degrading the scan overly. And I shifted labs to Isis. It was a
problem with the final wash(&rinse?) not being changed regularly. I knew of
other people who had the same problem at the time.

I found different scanning resolutions need different flextouch settings,
and previewing the result using the detail function, you could tailor the
result.

Imacon sharpening is at zero supposedly when set to -120
