I've never used an 848, but had this problem when scans were done at a lab. I seem to recall it was to do with sharpening applied at the time of scanning. I remember that setting a figure of zero doesn't give zero sharpening for some obscure reason. To get zero sharpening you have to set something like minus 121 or something silly. Someone more knowledgable on this should have the exact figure??

Thousands of tiny black spots..... quite simply. Visable at 200% and noticable at 100%. If i apply any global USM they become very apparent. I have seen it with RVP, in particular, and only with colour positive film. I should add that on every occasion the film has come directly from the lab
