I had a similar experience with "Flextouch" - shall we call it
Flexsplodge..... ? In my experience it simply doesn't work - it does a
terrible job of touching out specs on scans, and gives the effect that I can
only describe as over-watered spot-tone retouching - apologies for
pre-digital reference ;)

Have you tried the same scan with Fletouch set to zero ? You'll find the
scan looks much better. But then you'll have to spot the thing manually !
