Shangara As far as I know we are all at the mercy of Adobe and Apple, they click their fingers and we all stand to attention.. no offence but with OSX (and I didn't think a 1Ghz processor with 1Gig of ram was slow for a laptop) it's still slow, and I don't subscribe to the bigger better theory.. get a better OS so upgrade everything else, why not a new machine, where does it end? It doesn't. Course they're making OS9 useable friendly software - how could us OS9ers survive without it? Even the AppleCare guy I called today was using it. Contempt for the computer industry? doesn't even come near. When I hear of the star-trek array of machines like Martin Evening has, or I guess Neil Barstow has, I know these guys are at the TOP of the ladder - do I need the same? No way, because I am a young photographer who is actually more interested in taking pictures than logistics nightmares like OS and color profiles; that's for the repro savvy experts like them who do it for a living. (helps that they can also be photographers too) I use all the same programs, the same way as they do. Change for the sake of it? My D1X is old hat, but it's a rock and it works beautifully, like my Mamiya. Doesn't everyone feel just a bit of hatred of being forced to spend more at the whim of the industry? If I have to moan anymore I will take it off-list, sorry all. eddy =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
