> With the greatest respect, if we are talking professional digital image > makers here,
Yup, so am I. I'm addressing a real section of digital image makers, who having made the move to digital are still not convinced that CM is anything but a move to get them to buy expensive kit and pay vastly inflated amounts of money for so called consultancy. Of course, you and I know differently ... :-)) And as I pointed out many people have merely used visual methods of profiling as a stepping stone to a deeper understanding of the subject and spending money on it. I'm disinclined to use the term 'professional' in quite the exclusive way your phrasing might indicate. I much prefer to get people along for the CM journey by persuasion and demonstration, than by edict from on high. I suspect there are many people on this list who are here to try and get a handle on the subject. If some of them use something like SuperCal or OSX's built in monitor 'calibration' for the first time after seeing this thread I would first welcome them aboard rather than immediately telling them they must travel in the hold. bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
