I'd have said it was misregistration - either the 
camera has moved a couple of microns during the 
16 exposures or the piezo motor isn't making 
consistent shifts. It could be exposure 
inconsistency also - we used to get the zipper 
artifacts when we used the 23 on a Mamiya RZ.
