Hi Francis,

I have recently signed up to the ProDig forum. Sadly the site was brought to
my attention as the result of one of your users posting complaints regarding
a warranty repair issue on her 1DS camera. As customer service manager for
Calumet photographic I picked up on the photographer's repair issue and
contacted her to explain how we could be of service. I was apologetic as it
transpired that she had been informed we would not be honouring warranties
on former Leeds purchases. This was incorrect information and I went to
great lengths to explain this fact. I then made a number of calls to
Fixation and Canon to ensure that the repair was dealt with swiftly and that
the photographer had a replacement unit whilst the matter of her faulty unit
was resolved.

It seems my efforts were wasted as her references to Calumet on the ProDig
website were somewhat derogatory and made no mention of the efforts I had
gone to.

Do you have guidelines I can refer to in order to ensure that any reply or
addition to such comments I should choose to post on the site are fair,
accurate and within the confines of acceptability?

There are legal aspects to this which I am keen not to have to address as
experience shows the majority of these matters can be resolved amicably.
However I am sure you are as keen as we are not to have your site hijacked
for purposes of indiscriminate slander.

Your response will be appreciated.

Regards,

Philip King

Subject: [PRODIG] List Mum Message

Hi all

Once again it's my turn to be list mum.

As always, a reminder to check the list guidelines, especially if
you're new to the list, but also if you're a long standing member who
maybe doesn't post too often.

The guidelines can be found at www.prodig.org along with those other
useful features, the Archive, the Annex and the For Sale section.

Finally, if you aren't sure whether a subject is on or off topic (and
there often does seem to be some confusion) please do check with the
list mum before posting.

Best
