Hello all
This is my post to advise you that it is once again my turn to be your friendly list mum. Actually - I was your list mum last week also, but as I didn't actually start till Tuesday (thanks to Richard Kenward for covering for me on Monday) and with a manic week in terms of my own work, plus the onset of a heavy cold I was always in catch up mode.
So - thankfully it was a fairly quiet week and - bless you all - you were pretty well behaved:-)
All the normal stuff. Trimming IS important. Take note of Ellie Kennard's re-introduction. She just couldn't cope with the digest version. She didn't say that un-needed content was the problem - but I'm sure it didn't help.
There are often threads that can start with relevant content, but can quickly wander off track if we don't all exercise some discipline. Last week's e-bay thread was a case in point. The initial warning about the problems encountered , given the previous threads about buying outside one's own country, was just inside the guidelines, but it quickly turned into a "me too" scenario.
Believe you me - the list mums do not enjoy having to interfere in a thread. This is now a pretty large list. We are here to discuss digital photography in the professional field. We have guidelines to help us adhere to that. The membership of this list is also an incredible resource, and one that never ceases to amaze by it's ability to help out. But PLEASE - don't abuse it - keep the on-list discussion digital.
If you need to ask a non digital question - please ask for answers off-list - and those who answer - please respect that and answer off-list.
It's been a sunny few days here in UK - and my cold is going. Just make my week with some careful posting :-)
Any problems - contact me direct.
