I don't use one - it really depends what you do.  If you need to check 
everything in detail then yes - the magnification in camera is poor.  
If however you don't want to spend lots of time connecting up & 
checking, then having a CD writer like the Apacer or an HD eg FlashTrax 
or Archos onto which you can copy files gives you the reassurance 
without the bulk.
