To set the record straight -

The section of the PDF is from the printed book - which shows what Dan is
talking, where in the case of say grass - the lower res looks sharper or
more detailed or more grassy - while the higher res file has a more smooth
appearance and the detail of the grass is not as apparent (it's all about
statistics). This was in relation to HALFTONE output on a PRINTING PRESS
with an image of two different resolutions but at the same physical size and
not inkjet output and stochastic screens.

Not to say that the same may not apply on inkjets - but there are the
differences of how inkjets may cause artifacts at a certain resolution where
they may not on a press at that figure.
